Draíocht Final Show – Thu Aug 23rd
If you have not been yet you need to get there next week as it is your final chance. This fast moving traditional music, song and dance show in St. Paul’s Community Centre, Clogheen is the must see show of the Summer.
Once the doors open, the medieval style setting with flickering candlelight is very welcoming. You are shown to your seat and once seated, tea/coffee is served at your table with delicious homemade scones. The show opens at a slow pace culminating to a pulsating set of reels when the dancers announce their arrival with a burst of colour and sound. The setting is beautiful which adds to the whole experience.
The musicians include Richie Murray on pipe and flute, Ciarán Mulderrig on keyboards, Conor Moriarty on Box and Jessie Healy on fiddle. The show is very much a credit to its Director Michael Ryan and the voluntary group of parents who assist nightly. Lead dancers Deirdra Kiely and Michelle Kelly have a troupe of 40 dancers in their charge this year. The dedication and committement shown by the young dancers is wonderful to see and their enjoyment is noticable while performing on stage.
The final show for 2012 is Thursday next, August 23rd.
Doors @ 8.15pm. Tickets €15.00, €10.00 for under 12 years.
