Accommodation in the immediate environs of Mitchelstown will be very hard to come by for the Independence Festival from August 3rd to 5th 2012 (it’s actually the Indie-pendence Festival, referring to the Indie nature of the music on offer but most people search for Independence Festival, which is why that’s what we put in the post name).
For the weekend that’s in it accommodation will be difficult to come by everywhere, but if you move quickly enough there are a number of areas around Clogheen where it is still possible to find someplace to stay. Clogheen is 12 miles (just 20 minutes drive) from Mitchelstown so it is the ideal place to stay close to the festival.
Take a look at our Accommodation (Stay) page and choose whether you want to stay in total luxury, self-catering, in the middle of town, wish to park your caravan or just want to pitch your tent. In Clogheen we’ve got it all.
Something to Eat
If you’re feeling a bit peckish after the festival, you’ll get absolutely gouged in the immediate environs, so it would be a good idea to take the 20 minute trip out the old Clonmel road from Mitchelstown (signposted at the traffic lights) to Clogheen to get a bite to eat in peace and at a reasonable price. Take a look at our Dine page for full details of all that is on offer.
