Coláiste Dún Iascaigh Performance of Grease 2012Coláiste Dún Iascaigh Performance of Grease 2012

The Coláiste Dún Iascaigh performance of Grease 2012 is a triumph. We had the pleasure of a visit on the opening night, Thursday November 22nd, and the hard work and ingenuity employed by students and teachers alike was incredibly impressive.

The musical involves a number of students from Clogheen and surrounding areas as the Coláiste is, of course, the main second level school for the area. The Coláiste is rightly renowned for its annual musicals and you won’t be disappointed in this one. One of the main characters, Jan of the Pink Ladies, is played by Michaela Maher, daughter of Jimmy & Aggie Maher – who gives a wonderful rendition of Blue Moon during the show.

Please do visit if you get a chance. The musical runs from Thursday November 22nd to Sunday November 25th inclusive. Friday night (tonight) is sold out but there are some tickets available for both Saturday and Sunday nights.

Please do go along for a night to remember and to support your local secondary school – you won’t be disappointed. Tickets are available from the Coláiste, the Parents Association, The Heritage shop on the Square and the Esso Service Station on the Clonmel road.

Below is a short scene from the Finale of the production, to give you just a little taste of what you can expect:

Once the doors open, the medieval style setting with flickering candlelight is very welcoming. The setting is beautiful which adds to the whole experience.

The show is very much a credit to its Director Michael Ryan and the voluntary group of parents who assist nightly.
